Artist Teams Up With Her Mom To Create Fun ‘Identical’ Portraits

North Carolina-based artist Carra Sykes, together with her mother, created a light-hearted photo series called ‘Mother + Daughter’.

In this ongoing series, the two women highlight their closeness as mother and child by dressing identically and striking the same poses in a series of portraits.

“My uncle, who is my mom’s twin, always jokes about her wearing my clothes, so this gave me the idea to start shooting photos of my mom and I wearing the same outfit,” she explained. “I have enjoyed her enthusiasm and energy towards out adventure together.”

“When we haven’t taken a photo in a while, she sometimes comes to me and asks when we will take our next Mother Daughter photo. She has been so wonderful to work with,” she added.

“Comparing the photos side-by-side, I love seeing the striking similarities and also the differences of our features and expressions. I hope this project sparks something positive in those who come across it, and hopefully even some laughs.”

“Like mother, like daughter?” What do you think?
