The ‘Cut Chair’ created by designer Seattle-based designer Peter Bristol seems like a sketchy place to take a seat.
Looking like it belongs in a staged tacky magic show, the interesting furniture piece has three severed legs—but it still stands tall and is able to support a person’s weight, like its ordinary counterparts.
To get to the bottom of its sorcery, Bristol used no magnets nor transparent pieces in the creation of his ‘Cut Chair’; rather, it has a supporting metal structure placed beneath its carpet that anchors it and keeps one of its legs sturdy—while the other three leg ‘stumps’ are kept in place—so you can sit with ease of mind.
The optical illusion chair is sure to throw your guests off guard, but would make a good conversation starter in your home.
Would you dare take a seat on the Cut Chair?
