Artist and photographer Patrick Rochon have been specializing in a unique style of light painting since 1992 and can now be considered to be a master of the art form.

His latest project, “Light Painting KATA”, consists of a series of stunning abstract light paintings—the process of creating them involves dancing and long exposure photography.

According to The Phoblographer, the artist used a light source that looks similar to a light saber to create these beautiful works, which he dances around with to create the spell-binding illuminated patterns.

“Getting to the essence of what I do, I now understand that light painting is above all, movement. To me, it is a mix of dancing and martial arts.”
