The ‘Stair-Rover’ is a new skateboard that has a unique eight-wheeled design that lets you skate down stairs and other obstacles smoothly.

The brainchild of product designer PoChih Lai, the ‘Stair-Rover’ was designed from the very start to be able to surf the entire city.

Inspired by the streets of London, Lai saw the city’s architecture as a “source of energy to be harnessed by skateboarders” and dreamed of a different way in which to “enjoy its flow”.

In development for the past two years, the ‘Stair-Rover’ features a patent-pending V-frame design and a chassis that reduces impact.

The ‘Stair-Rover’ also has wheels that “bounce up and down independently and conform to the shape of each step.”

The project can currently be funded on Kickstarter.
