A group of 20 German Star Wars fans have come together to build a TIE Fighter that weighs over a ton.
Unveiled in Eichenzell, Germany, this TIE Fighter is 5.3-meters wide, 4.8-meters long and 4.3-meters high, which is half the size of the actual model used in the movie.
It took two years to complete, and the entire project cost US$29,000—with some of the cost being offset by sponsors.
This tribute to George Lucas will be showcased at the “STAR WARS—Celebration Europe” event which will be held on 26 July 2013, in Messe Essen, Germany.
