We know of China’s plans to build the world’s tallest building, but its largest building is already up and running.
The New Century Global Center is 1.7 million square meters wide or is as large as 20 Sydney Opera Houses put together.
Located above a subway station in Chengdu, Sichuan, this 18-storey building houses everything from shops, hotels, restaurants, an IMAX theater, as well as an artificial beach which comes with an LED screen that showcases sunsets.
With this many lifestyle options housed together in one place, this building is almost an urban metropolis in itself.
What do you think—is this good urban planning, or a little bit over the top?
