A Font Made Of Dappled Sunlight

Known for creating typefaces with unusual materials⎯such as dust and bacteria⎯, Russian designer Ruslan Khasanov’s latest typeface is composed of dappled sunlight named “Lumen”.

Using just a magnifying glass and the sun, Khasanov has managed to manufacture dappled light spots and craft each letter from these glimmering, flickering spheres.

Reminiscent of the effect found in old analog photographs, this animated typeface creates a sense of delightful nostalgia .
