If you don’t know what to do with the bland, life-less landscape painting you’ve inherited from your grand-aunt, why not try painting quirky monsters into them to spice them up?
That is precisely what some artists decided to do—and the results are definitely a lot more interesting than their former boring selves.
By creatively interpretating the scenes in these landscape paintings, Steven Leduc, Chris McMahon and Driscoll Reid were able to insert strategically-positioned monstrous characters into them, turning them from “blah” to “wow”.
From a ship-wrecking kraken to friendly-looking mountain giants, these creatures are a breath of imaginative fresh air in this world of flat, pastel-hued landscapes.
