Spanish architectural studio espai MGR has produced a series of mind-bending, deconstructed images of an abandoned hospital in Valencia to make a statement about “urban recycling”.
The architects manipulated photographs of the former Hospital Universitario La Fe to create images of structures that defy the laws of physics and rules of engineering.
Looking just like the dreamscape universe from the movie “Inception”, the complexes of the abandoned hospital were broken up into components and re-arranged into impossible new configurations.
This project was undertaken to bring much needed attention to how abandoned buildings need not be demolished and can be restructured to house new functions.
