Apple has rolled out its iOS 6.0.1 update for its portable devices—available on iTunes and wirelessly.
The new iOS:
Fixes a bug that prevents the iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod Touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 WiFi networks Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match Fixes a Passcode Lock bug that sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings
Although it does solve some past issues, according to Expert Reviews, the update comes with its own set of problems—such as wiping the mobile access point settings from the handset (disconnecting the device from the mobile network for anything except calls), rejecting SIM cards (meaning that the phones can't be used as phones at all, and are relegated to the status of iPod Touch).
These new problems have only affected a handful of people , but we advise to update at your own risk.
