Facebook Launches Jobs-Hunting App

Social networking has gotten more serious about job hunting.

Facebook has officially launched its ‘Social Jobs Partnership’ app—in partnership with the US Department of Labor, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, DirectEmployers Association, and the National Association of State Workforce Agencies.

The app lets US-based Facebook users find and share employment opportunities, with job listings provided by job search sites Jobvite, BranchOut, Monster.com, Work4Labs and DirectEmployers Association.

Users can filter the job search by using keywords, categories and subcategories, and location.

Social Jobs also has a ticker on the top of its page to tell users exactly the number of jobs available—currently, the app has 1.7 million jobs hosted on Facebook.
