A Japanese man—who claims that God has bestowed Earth to him in a dream—has auctioned off our home planet for an astounding ¥9,889,899,888 (US$123,000,000) on Yahoo Auctions.
This may still sound like a bargain for the entire planet, but with the world possibly ending soon—according to the Mayans—we wonder if this is such a sound investment after all.
Listing his auction item as “authentic” and stating a “no return” policy, the seller took the sale of Earth very seriously and would not entertain prank bids.
The Q&A section of the auction is a particularly hilarious read of ridiculous enquires—including the possibility of becoming a god after acquiring the planet.
