Liquor company Diageo has found a novel way to personalize its whiskey—by enabling customers to embed a video via a QR-code on the bottle.
Developed by software company Evrything, Diageo has assigned a unique code to each bottle of whiskey that allows gift-givers to add a personal short film with their smartphones.
The recipient could then view the video by scanning the code on the bottle with their own phone.
Named ‘+More’—“because there’s more to the bottle than meets the eye”—this is a good example of how mass-produced products could be made more special by introducing a digital dimension.
