Last October, Portland-based student and photographer Kevin Kadooka made a beautiful wooden instant camera from scratch—due to popular demand, he is now selling the camera as a built-it-yourself kit.
The vintage-style twin lens reflex camera—named “Duo”—is an over-sized, waist-level viewfinder designed for Polaroid instant film, which is easily assembled.
Buyers of the Duo camera kit will receive laser-cut birch plywood pieces, a mirror, ground glass (with frosted framelines) and various hardware components required for putting it together.
The photographer is currently sourcing for funds on Kickstarter—pledge US$209 for a basic Duo kit or US$649 for a ready-to-use Duo camera.
