The Bank of England is going to issue a new £10 banknote that will feature a portrait of beloved author Jane Austen—the release of this new note coincides with the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice, one of Austen’s most famous works.
Appearing on the banknote is a great way to celebrate and honor one of “most popular and widely read authors in the English language”—in addition to the portrait, other Austen-inspired details can also be seen on the banknote.
