A team of DARPA-funded researchers from the US and Switzerland have created contact lenses that can help age-related macular degeneration (AMD) patients.
Originally created for those who are going blind due to age, the contact lenses are able to help users correct their vision by refocusing their eyes.
How these contact lenses work is that they have mirrored surfaces, which let users see magnified visions of up to 2.8 times, due to the telescopic effect the mirrors create.
The contact lenses catch the magnified light and spread it out onto the retina.
