The Guy Fawkes mask is a familiar symbol that has been popularized over the past few years by Alan Moore’s ‘V for Vendetta’, hacktivist group ‘Anonymous’, and in protests around the world, used as a display of solidarity.
Andy fro ANIMAL asked “But why should that solidarity be limited to one image without any local influence?”
So, ANIMAL has set out to diversify the Guy Fawkes mask, designing an alternative set of masks in “male and female models, with Palestinian keffiyehs, trees to represent Gezi Park, ancient Egyptian-style ornamentation, and clown noses that reference a long-held symbol of protest in Brazil, as well as traditional Fawkes masks in a variety of skin tones”.
Full-sized, wearable version of the mask can be downloaded here.
