Created by London-based company Rubbee, the ‘Rubbee Electric Drive’ is a small detachable electric motor that can turn almost any bicycle into an e-bike in “just a few seconds”.
The ‘Rubbee Electric Drive’ weighs only 14lbs, has a range of 15 miles and a top speed of 15mph. The drive offers 800W of peak power and the integrated battery pack fully charges in just two hours.
The drive is waterproof, and attaches to the bicycle’s seatpost via a quick release lever. An “integrated suppression system” ensures the powered roller provides constant contact with the top of the tire.
The roller is made of a special polyurethane material developed specifically transfer energy efficiently and reduce wear and tear on the tire.
Riders can control the motor using a throttle that is permanently fitted to the handlebar. The ‘Rubbee Electric Drive’ can also be easily removed when not in use.
