What do Walt Disney, Dr. Seuss, Hitler and Pope Gregory XV have in common?



All of them were involved in using or creating propaganda to influence the thoughts of others.



Website Word Focus has created an interesting infographic illustrating the beginnings and evolution of modern propaganda.



According to the infographic, modern propaganda was first used by the Catholic Church in the 17th century to counter the “rising tide” of Protestanism.



Later on, Hitler expertly used propaganda to spread his ideologies while both Walt Disney and Dr. Seuss created propaganda during World War II to support the war effort and educate Americans about their enemies.
