Murmansk-based Russian illustrator Iv Orlov produced a series of cheerful drawings for car-maker Volkswagen that depict its “Weekenders” in various European countries.
Filled with the symbols and sights associated with each country—for instance, a bottle of Chanel No. 5 for France and the Leaning Tower of Pisa for Italy—these illustrations show how the versatile vehicle would fit right into the different national lifestyles.
These eye-catching illustrations are certainly a refreshing change from the usual, testosterone-charged car ad that shows the featured vehicle zooming down deserted highways at break-neck speed.
