The Storefront Transformer: A Kit That Turns Spaces Into Pop-Up Stores

The 'Storefront Transformer' is a pop-up kit by Made in the Lower East Side (miLES), a community organization based in New York City, that contains all the essentials that entrepreneurs need to set up a temporary shop.

Each kit is a 6-foot by 6-foot cube that comes equipped with furnishings and amenities such as furniture, lighting, Wi-Fi, power strips, speakers, projectors, and a stage.

Founder Eric Ho said he wanted to show how empty storefronts can be used creatively, and to incubate new and emerging ideas.

Currently raising funds on Kickstarter, the miLES Storefront Transformer comes to the Lower East Side this November and December as a series of seven themed stores.
