Graphic designer and writer Keith Lovegrove has debuted a book that looks at the Golden Age of air travel.
Entiteld ‘Airline: Style at 30,000 feet’, the book chronicles vintage photos of airlines and what traveling used to be like—from the fashion and air stewardesses uniforms, to airline logos, food and aircraft interiors.
“My father worked for the airlines and dragged our family around the planet in the early ’60s, which was a really glamorous time to fly,” Lovegrove told Fast Co. Design. “Everyone used to dress up to get on an airplane. I wanted to find out where that glamorous time went. As I started to research it, I found all these wonderful pictures.”
For those who like to travel, or go on overseas trips pretty often, Lovegrove’s book resonates with nostalgia as it takes you back in time to when flying was a glamorous thing.
‘Airline: Style at 30,000 feet’ is available on Amazon.
