A Funny Book About A Horror Story That Looks Just Like An IKEA Catalog

The book Horrorstör is a terrifying novel that takes on the form of an IKEA catalog.

Written by Grady Hendrix and illustrated by various artists from Etsy, the book is about five employees who work in an IKEA-like store called Orsk. They have to investigate why furniture keeps getting destroyed, only to realize that the store is haunted.

Hendrix came up with this idea after talking to this editor about how horrible IKEA stores were—he describes them as “the mutant offspring of a house and a labyrinth.”

He also found that it was easy to come up with the different types of furniture in the book, basing them on 19th century prisons and torture devices found in real life.

It is evident that the illustrators had a lot of fun designing the “furniture” in the book—we cannot wait to read it and see what devices these creatives have come up with.
