Designer Alters Starbucks’ Logo To Show What Goes On At The Coffee Shop

Based in Madrid, creative director Alejo Malia has created a personal project titled “Starbucks ICONS”, where she alters the famous Starbucks logo to reflect the behavior of the brand’s customers and “those moments and situations that happens in the coffee shop”.

Transforming the double-tailed mermaid in the logo into various personalities, she is able to bring across the typical scenes that could be observed in Starbucks outlets.

For instance, one variation of the logo makes reference to how Starbucks is “The Mecca of The Hipsters”, while another one highlights the unhappy people whose names have been spelled wrongly on their coffee cups by the barista.

There are 9 edited logos in all—view all of them here. Do you think they present an accurate picture of what goes on inside of Starbucks?
