We’ve previously featured these spectacular pictures of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland erupting.
More recently, Iceland-based photographer Iurie Belegurschi captured some amazing shots of the Bárðarbunga volcano erupting last week.
According to Guide to Iceland, the volcano had become extremely active, spewing lava that reached heights of up to 150 meters.
Belegurschi’s photographs of lava pools glowing an ominous orange and surrounded by massive clouds of smoke are a reminder of the powerful force of nature.
