A billboard with the message ‘Gods Loves Gays’ has debuted in Topeka, Kansas—the home city of “hate group” Westboro Baptist Church.
Created by satirical Facebook page ‘God’, the billboard was mounted with the help of his followers (punt intended), who raised the funds needed on crowd-sourcing platform Indiegogo.
“This group protests at the funerals of soldiers, murdered children, and more,” wrote ‘God’. “They carry around with them hate-speech signs that say that God hates gay people.”
“This evil lie has been put into the world by bigots like them for thousands of years. The time has come to right this wrong. God LOVES gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people!”
In total, over US$80,000 was raised for the project, exceeding its initial $50,000 target.
