Headset Straps iPad To Your Face, Lets You Experience Virtual Reality

Toronto design firm Metatecture has created a Kickstarter project for the ‘AirVR’ and ‘AirVR+’—“a new kind of virtual reality headset that leverages the iOS Retina hardware”, letting you bring Virtual Reality along with you wherever you go.

It is a wireless VR headset designed to fit the iPad Mini, iPad Mini with Retina, and the iPhone6+, and is made of foam pads and adjustable ballistic nylon straps—it functions by simply sliding the gadgets into the headset , an imagery projection will be displayed on the left-eye and right-eye lenses respectively.

The design firm has also developed some apps to enhance the users experience, such as the MovieVR that allows users to immerse themselves in virtual 3D and HD movies.

Find out more about the project here—the headsets will be available for purchase at an affordable price of US$49.

What do you think—would you be keen in putting this device around your head in public?
