Photographer Travels The World Offering His Services In Exchange For Necessities

Shantanu Starick, a photographer who has been traveling the world for the past two years offering his services in exchange for necessities

Photographer Shantanu Starick has been traveling the world for the past two years, offering his services in exchange for food, shelter and transport.

He embarked on his project, titled ‘The Pixel Trade’, with the aim of reintroducing the barter system in today’s modern and global environment.

Armed with only his camera, Starick has traversed the globe, shooting everything from weddings and food, to jewelry and fashion editorials.

He has visited Melbourne, Berlin, Marrakech and Istanbul among other cities, and is currently in New York City. The nomadic photographer hopes to make it to all seven continents until “the well of human compassion and curiosity dries up.”

Find out more about his project at his website, and if you’re interested in doing a trade, you can contact him here.

Shutterbugs, what do you think—would you like to go on your own photography adventure too?
