Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, who created this world’s largest rubber duckie that caused quite a stir a few months ago, recently unveiled another lovable piece of gigantic art.
Titled “Sunbathing Hare”, this latest long-eared installation lays on Hare Island in St. Petersburg, Russia, basking happily in the sun and smiling at all the visitors it draws.
Measuring 15 meters long by 8 meters wide and standing at 2.5 meters high, the huge sculpture has been covered with plywood strips that have been painted pink, orange, grey and green.
Created for Russian public art program “The Netherlands Bilateral Year 2013”, this impressive and whimsical installation will stay on display until 13 October 2013—scroll down to view more images of it.
