Alluring Paintings Of A Person's Conflicting Thoughts On Beauty

UK-based Rosanna Jones is a 19 year old fashion photography student who has created a series of paintings called ‘Skin’, and they explore the theme of body image and identity.

The paintings are inspired by a quote by François de La Rochefoucauld that reads "We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves."

Through her work, Jones portrays the inner monologue of how a person feels about their own beauty compared to how they are perceived by people who look at them.

Each portrait is created with paints and a digital photo collage, using a limited color palette of pastels to match with the subject’s body.

The result are these striking portraits of a disfigurement that embody beauty.
