Canadian charitable organization RainCity Housing provides to the homeless housing and support services.
As a way to raise awareness, the organization engaged the help of ad agency Spring Advertising to create two special park bench installations that double as ads.
The first installation features a bench that’s able to transform into a temporary shelter for when it rained, by flipping open the sign that reads: “Find shelter here”. When opened the ad on the inside reads: “Find a home here” and the address of RainCity Housing.
The second installation features a park bench printed with UV and glow-in-the-dark ink. During the day, only the black ink shows, and reads: “This is a bench”. But when it gets dark, the black ink disappears and only the glow-in-the-dark ink illuminates to read: “This is a Bedroom”.
