Photorealistic Paintings Of Scenes Viewed From Rain-Slicked Car Windshields

New-Jersey based artist Gregory Thielker uses oil paints to create hyperrealistic paintings of rainy day scenes glimpsed through a windshield.

In this series titled ‘Under The Unminding Sky’, the landscapes range from day to night scenes, with varying levels of obscuration by the water.

Thielker wants to highlight the ways “we see landscape in a varied and complex manner”. In his paintings, “perspectives slip and compress, while shapes and colors merge into one another”.
