The Setouchi Triennale is an annual event that conveys the charms of Japan’s Seto Inland Sea to the world through art and architecture.
One of the participating artists this year is Nobuyoshi Araki, a Tokyo-based photographer and contemporary artist who is known for some audacious art. He has also photographed Icelandic singer Björk, and more recently, Lady Gaga.
For the event this year, a train has been wrapped in Araki’s bold art: a collage of eerie baby dolls, vibrant flowers, and bright blue dinosaurs.
‘The Araki Train’ runs between Takamatsu and Kanonji, connecting Takamatsu to sites west of the city. Find out more about the schedule here.
