Graphic designer Laura Hudson has created an gorgeous and thought-provoking "inky" typographic project
As ink is slowly absorbed into the letters that have been laser-cut out of blotting paper, a poignant message is revealed in dark indigo.
Deriving inspirations from Oscar Diaz's Ink Calendar, the artist recreated her version with 300gsm scientific grade blotting paper that was laser-cut, and hung it in her studio with ends soaked in cylinders of cyan printer ink. With a little help from warm water, the ink produced "lovely chromatic bleed effects" throughout the project.
In conjunction with the "Time to Change" mental health campaign, the artist who once suffered from depression hopes that this message would help to raise awareness of "the invisible nature of mental illness".
The process can be viewed in the documented time-lapse film below.
