MIT Media Lab’s Changing Places research group has designed a concept apartment that allows for personal space customization.
The project, headed by Kent Larson and Hasier Larrea, is titled ‘CityHome’. The futuristic apartment features a transformable wall system that can integrate various functions such furniture, storage, office and exercise equipment—as well as lighting and an entertainment system.
Another unique part of this apartment is the ability to control the furniture and lighting system via gestures and voice commands. The designers even envisioned using apps in the house for special occasions.
