Three artist from Studio Smack Ton Meijdam, Thom Snels and Béla Zsigmond, have created an attention-grabbing poster entry for the Graphic Design Festival Breda.
The poster design uses the "age-old concept" of cut-out words from newspaper and magazines and is pieced together to a message, "cleverly" updated with social media logos—the trio nailed the criteria for creating a design that "tests the participants typography and graphic skills" and "encourages discussion about a social or political issue".
Giving an alternative meaning to the Fight Club movie quote, Ton Meijdam explained that the movie was from "a pre-social media era" and it was "literally talking about our possessions, and how they can dominate and take over our lives".
