Photographer Captures Side-By-Side Photos That Reveal People’s Hidden Tattoos

Vancouver-based photographer Spencer Kovats has an eye-opening series where he captures side-by-side portraits of people that reveal their hidden tattoos.

The photos were taken for an event called The Tattoo Project held four years ago, and Kovats was one of 11 fine art photographers involved.

The event saw Vancouver’s best photographers holed up in one of the city’s premiere studios over a long weekend, shooting hundreds of participants who showed off their body art in an exploration of their identities.

Out of the thousands of portraits shot, 200 photos from the session were compiled into a book called The Tattoo Project: Body, Art, Image, which was published in 2012.

Check out some photos below and head over here to purchase the book.
