New York-based artist Bradley Hart—whom we previously wrote about here—has added new pieces to his impressive “Injections” series, where he injects paint into bubble wrap to create fascinating images.
Instead of photorealistic portraits, he has now recreated famous painting—such as the Mona Lisa, Girl with a Pearl Earring and Van Gogh’s Self Portrait with Grey Felt Hat—using the same time-consuming technique. Each artwork takes about 150 hours to complete.
Other than the final bubble wrap paintings, the artist has also shown “glitched” versions of them. As the paint is being injected, the excess drips down the back of the piece—the dried dripping would then be peeled away to reveal an imprint of the work.

The “The Masters Interpreted: Injections and Impressions” exhibition would be shown at the Cavalier Galleries Inc. in New York City from 6-31 May 2014.
