An anonymous millionaire who goes by the Twitter handle Hidden Cash has been hiding cash in public places in the San Francisco Bay Area, and posting clues to their locations on Twitter.
According to an interview with The Bold Italic, the person had made “millions of dollars” off the city’s real estate market and wanted to give back to society, in addition to donating to various charities.
Described as a “social experiment” aimed at easing the wealth inequality, they hinted at a “huge giveaway” once the account reaches 100,000 followers.
He or she added that they intend to hide cash once or twice a week, and plan to do this indefinitely.
