Stock Photo Agencies Make Images Available By Pay-Per-Use

Want to use professional stock photos for your blog, but could not afford the expensive licensing fees and would rather not risk infringement?

Good news — more photo agencies are making their images available by pay-per-use, so you can now pay only for the actual number of impressions displayed.

Given that the average blog post generates around 2,500 impressions, this solution makes sense for bloggers considering their limited budgets and the high costs of infringement. (Note: According to US Copyright Law, it can cost up to $30,000 per infringed use so it's best to play safe.)

IMGembed, the startup that helps image owners of all types — from Instagram users to photographers to established photo agencies — with performance-based image monetization, has announced the adoption of its platform by more photo agencies which includes Blend Images and Danita Delimont Stock Photography.

This news comes on the heels of its collaboration with publishing powerhouse Condé Nast.

Premium images of wildlife, lifestyle and corporate world are now available for use from $3 onwards for every 1,000 impressions.

Is the future of stock photo industry in pay-per-use licensing?
