Walt Before Mickey, a new movie featuring famed animator Walt Disney’s struggles in starting his animation studio, is in the works.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the movie will be based on the book, Walt Before Disney: Disney’s Early Years, 1919-1928, written by Timonthy S. Susanin.
The movie, directed by first-time director Khoa Le, will focus on the struggles faced by the animator before he created the iconic character, Mickey Mouse.
Walt Disney will be played by Thomas Ian Nicholas from American Pie, while Jon Heder from Napoleon Dynamite will take on the role as Disney's brother, Roy.
As listed on the movie’s website, a DVD release is planned for Walt Before Mickey in December 2014—you can pre-order your copy here.
