‘Wordstuck’ is a project started by Cebu-based artist Mark Cuyos, in which he catalogs untranslatable words from different languages.
He incorporates GIFs into his posts, using them to illustrate the meaning behind the words.
“Wordstuck is a collection of different interesting words, mostly from other languages that do not have direct English translation,” Cuyos said. “Some just sound lovely, or weird, while others are words we’ve felt or experienced, something we came to pass by everyday that we never been able to name, or something we never thought there exist words for them.”
“It is for curious people who seek adventures in discovering words and languages around the world, use them in writings, or in conversations, a reference to be kept in memory or in a journal, or a reminder to name for something that happened or will happen in the future.”
