“FrankenCamera” is a functional vintage rangefinder fitted with digital camera components, and it is created by 18-year-old Oxford physics major Ollie Baker.
Using his Arkwright scholarship fund, Baker purchased an old analog Konica Auto S3 rangefinder and a Sony NEX-5 mirrorless camera to create the unique camera.
He then dismantled the Sony NEX-5 and fitted several of its components, such as its circuit board, sensor, SD card slot, and battery connector, into the vintage Konica.
Based on his detailed blog entry about the whole process behind creating the FrankenCamera, it does not seem like an easy task.
What do you think—would you consider creating your own FrankenCamera?
