The Intriguing Color Palettes Used In Popular Movies Reflect Their Moods

Frozen

Designer Charlie Clark reveals the dominant colors that are used in various popular movies including Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Avatar on his interactive website, The Colors Of Motion.

In his website, Clark examined the colors reflected in each frame from selected movies, before averaging and reducing them into delightful color palettes of stripes and squares.

Interestingly, the color palette of each movie vividly reflects its mood—action films like The Matrix and Drive contain copious amounts of black and dark green, while animated flick Frozen seems to be predominantly washed in white and hues of blue.
