Growing a beard takes plenty of time and patience, but this man “grew” his in just nine seconds.
The time-lapse video, created by photographer Patrick Niddrie and his friends Dave, JP, and Victoria, was filmed while they went for a hike in Yosemite. The man featured in the video is Niddrie's friend, Dave.
You might wonder why Dave’s beard seemed to be growing rather neatly—Niddrie actually photographed Dave’s beard in reverse by asking him to “take one step backwards for every photo” before trimming his beard “ever so slightly every three steps”.
After taking 240 photos of Dave’s beard, Niddrie eventually used 185 shots and compiled them into a nine-second video with Adobe Lightroom.
It may not be the most realistic simulation, but it could inspire other versions of beard-growing time-lapse videos.
