Former Hulu CEO Jason Kilar has launched a new video sharing and subscription platform, Vessel, that could possibly be YouTube’s next online competitor.
Unlike YouTube’s 55% cut of ad revenue for content creators, Vessel hopes to entice them with a higher share of revenues by offering content creators 70% of ad revenue and 60% of subscription revenue.
For users, Vessel will be offering a premium service that gives them up to 72 hours of early access to videos created by top YouTube personalities, such as Epic Meal Time and Unbox Therapy, for just US$2.99 a month.
