Paris-based photographer Hugh Arnold has captured the sensual beauty of underwater female nudes for his series ‘Agua Nacida’.
Arnold was inspired by a 20-year-old photograph of model Tully Jensen frolicking in the Seychelles, which was hidden in his archive.
Having always had an affinity for the ocean, he decided to embark on this project and took up a scuba training course in Egypt to prepare for it.
The images in the series are of models and ex-swimmers Polina Barbosova and Nika Lauraitis, and were shot on location in the islands of Figi and Gozo.
Unrestricted by gravity, the underwater setting showcases their curves and ethereal beauty, with their fluid movements depicting the cycle of life, from birth, childhood, adolescence, womanhood, and rebirth.
‘Agua Nacida’ is currently on view at the Mead Carney gallery in London till 14 February.
Check out some photographs below, and if you’re in London consider swinging by the exhibition.
