Subway Cars Being Tossed Into The Atlantic—For Environmental Reasons

New York-based photographer Stephen Mallon has an amazing photo series titled ‘Next Stop, Atlantic’, where he has captured the rare sight of New York City subway cars being tossed into the ocean.

Photographed over a three-year period, Mallon captures the process of how something man-made can serve a second life after its use.

The subway cars are dumped into the Atlantic for environmental reasons—it provides an artificial reef habitats, fostering sea life.
