To raise awareness about improving water sanitation in developing countries, Microsoft founder Bill Gates was seen drinking water that was made from human waste.
The water was produced by Omniprocessor, a treatment machine designed by engineering firm Janicki Bioenergy, and backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The “ingenious machine”, which burns human waste to extract water vapor, can also produce electricity.
Gates wrote on his blog: “The water tasted as good as any I’ve had out of a bottle. And having studied the engineering behind it, I would happily drink it every day. It’s that safe.”
