After the video that shows how their hamburger patties are made, McDonald’s has just released a new clip that reveals what their french fries are made of.

As before, “electronics wizard” Grant Imahara of “Mythbusters” fame is the host of the video—he went on a reverse process tour of the fries factory with the plant manager to find out how the fast food chain’s crisp potato sticks are made.

Unlike what some conspiracy theorists may have thought, McDonald’s french fries are indeed made of real potatoes—and instead of being shaped from ground up mush, the potatoes are actually cut by shooting through a high-pressure water knife at 60 to 70mph.

However, as Huffington Post has noted, even if McDonald’s fries are made of real potatoes, they are still processed with sugar and other additives to maintain their look and taste—taken together with their high fats content, this means that it is still an unhealthy snack.
